Once a program is in effect, we evaluate its success and make recommendations based on changing times and needs. Part of the ongoing review process includes negotiating renewals, marketing the plan with other carriers and review of contribution rates.
Part of a thorough review includes a discussion of business and key employee strategies. Such things as business succession planning, key-person indemnification, and selective executive benefits are an integral part of business asset creation and protection.
Conducting Employee Meetings - We believe that educating employees about their benefits is the key to the overall success of a program. Our goal is to help employees and their families utilize the plans in the most productive ways possible through clear communication of the programs offered. Most of our clients contract with us to perform personalized benefit orientation service for each new employee.
Assisting with Enrollment, Billing and Other Administrative Issues - We understand that dealing with insurers can be a very time consuming and frustrating process. We intervene on behalf of employers and employees to answer questions, correct errors and solve problems. Additionally we endeavor to assist our clients in understanding the contractual and governmental compliance issues of benefit plan administration.
Our most important assistance to employers is our Benefit Orientation Service. With prior notification of new hires, we schedule a personal one-on-one meeting with the employee who is about to complete their eligibility waiting period. In that meeting we review their benefit plan options, any special considerations in their decision-making, direct them to additional information resources, review benefit costs, enrollment procedures and application deadlines. Following that meeting we will also communicate with the employee’s spouse if desired. Our goal is also “establish a bond” with the employee so that they will, going forward, seek assistance from our office with questions or problems involving their benefits, thereby relieving the employer of the obligation of developing this expertise internally (note: this also protects the employer from knowledge of private medical information). This services is available for both English and Spanish mono-lingual employees.
Resolving Claim Problems - Following managed care guidelines can be a confusing matter and may result in unpaid claims. We research these issues and serve as an advocate for the client in dealing with insurance companies and providers.
Key-Person & Business Succession Planning - Not all employee benefit plans revolve around the rank-and-file. We have proven expertise in developing special benefit plans for: indemnifying the employer against the loss of key operational personnel, supplemental executive benefits, buy-sell arrangements and estate planning.
